Get the Slug or ID for a Shortcode

To make use of a shortcode, you need the slug or ID of the item you want to insert, which you will use in an attribute of the shortcode.

To get the slug for a post, page, custom post type, or saved template, row, or module:

  1. From the WordPress admin panel, open All Pages, All Posts, All Templates, or a list of your custom post type pages.
If you can’t find Templates in the WordPress admin panel, enable it by following instructions in the Related Articles.Screenshot of a Template menu with Quick Edit highlighted.
